Alecrast

Alecrast (アレクラスト, Arekurasuto) is the continent north of the island of Lodoss. It is the setting of the Sword World and Louie the Rune Soldier franchises of light novels and the birthplace of Kashue and Maar.

Besides the Rune Soldier anime and the Louie the Rune Soldier manga there are no official English translations of works that take place on Alecrast, thus information about this continent is hard to come by.

Orphan

Orphan (オーファン, Ōfan) is a kingdom in the western part of Alecrast. Founded by Rijarl in the year 500 NRC. It's capital city is Phan (ファン, Fan) and its royal castle is called Cedar (シーダー, Shīdā). Rijarl founded the kingdom after defeating the evil dragon Crish, and thereby succeeded the kingdom of Phan that ended in 494. The southern region of the kingdom of Phan was seperated as the kingdom of Phandoria (ファンドリア, Fandoria). The kingdom of Orphan has also been called the Kingdom of Swords.

Phandoria

Phandoria (ファンドリア, Fandoria) is a kingdom in the western part of Alecrast, to the south of the kingdom op Orphan. The kingdom's capital city is also called Phandoria, it's royal castle is called Skylifter (スカイリフター, Sukairifutā) and its current ruler is King Taylor II (テイラーII, Teirā II). The kingdom's army consists of two main forces, called the Black Sword Knights (黒剣騎士団) and the Laurel Knights (月桂樹騎士団).

Phandoria is the only kingdom on Alecrast that officially recognizes Phalaris faith. It is also known as the Kingdom of Chaos. It was founded in 494 by King Taylor I along with several powerful organizations, such as the Temple of Phalaris, the Thousand Fingers Thieves' Guild, and others. The year 494 was also the year the kingdom of Phan fell. The south of Phan became Phandoria, while the north eventually became Orphan.

Ramliearth

Ramliearth (ラムリアース, Ramuriāsu) is a kingdom that lies east of Orphan. It's capital city is called Lynas (ライナス, Rainasu), it's royal castle is Gray Forest (グレイ・フォレスト, Gurei foresuto). The current ruler is Flarehorn XVI (フレアホーン, Fureahōn). It's army is called the White Hoof Knights (白蹄騎士団, Shiro hidzume kishi-dan) and the Rune Knights (魔法騎士団, Mahō kishi-dan).

Founded in the 7th year of the New Royal Calendar, it is the oldest still existing kingdom on the continent of Alecrast. The name means "forest" in the language of the ancient kingdom. The kingdom's founder, Richard Alestas (リチャード・アレスタス, Richādo Aresutasu), is said the have come from the ancient kingdom. Since its inception, it has consistently passed down the tradition of ancient language magic, earning the kingdom the nickname "The Kingdom of Magic". Initially, Ramliearth's Academy of Sages was the only magic research institution on Alecreast, until Mana Rai founded their Magicians' Guild.
