Ambushed is the twelfth episode of the Legend of Crystania manga and the fourth episode of the third tankōban in the Legend of Crystania manga series.
Synopsis[]
The party of Sheru, Redon, Nasare, Boakes and Jenoba has arrived at Dayton castle, Barbas' castle in Beldia. Earlier, Kwairde, Obier and Raifan split from the others to go find Aderishia in the Cave of the Sealed. Before he left, Kwairde handed Redon his dagger.[1]
The castle is guarded by some of Barbas' Knights of Darkness, but Nasare uses his magic to get the party past them and get inside the castle unnoticed.[2] Muha, however, has already become aware of the party entering. Barbas' followers Garudi and Ruins are sent to deal with the party. Barbas gives Ruins the Demon Sword “Soul Crusher”. When someone is killed with the sword, that person can never be reborn, not even when a new cycle begins.[3]
Redon and the others eventually enter a large room full of paintings of the knights who have guarded Ashram for the past 300 years. Redon has come to accept his father's decision and wants to meet Ashram and see what he was like. He, like his father, can't be a man who has run away from battle.[4] Muha uses his magic to separate the party. Sheru is teleported to him, while Redon and Nasare find themselves alone, facing a man who introduces himself as Ruins, Captain of the Knights of Darkness.[5]
