Life’s Greatest Crisis?! is the fifteenth episode of the Louie the Rune Soldier manga and the fifth episode of the third tankōban in the Louie the Rune Soldier manga series.
Synopsis[]
In the city, Louie sees a young girl being harassed by a couple of thieves from the Thieves’ Guild. Louie interferes, beats the thieves, and introduces himself to them as Louie the Rune Soldier. The thieves run off, but the girl, Muriel, isn't pleased with Louie's help, because now she misses out on a place to stay. Louie offers the girl to stay it his place. The next day an angry Merrill wakes him up—she heard from the thieves what Louie had done. Louie explains what happened and introduced Muriel. Muriel tells some of her background to the group: her father had arranged a marriage for her, but she didn't want to get married. She talked to a priest who adviced her to run away. Louie and Merrill suspect that priest may be Melissa.
Merrill has an idea, and together with Louie she goes to visit Muriel's father, the Rodrigo company's president Hansel, at the company. They tell Hansel that Louie saved Muriel from a bunch of thieves, but when Hansel offers a reward, Merrill says that Louie already received a reward: he had Muriel (which isn't true, but a trick to get the marriage cancelled). Hansel suddenly informs them that he recognizes Louie, is acquaintanced with his father Carwes, and that Louie has to marry his daughter now.
