"Mission... The Path One Follows" is episode 18 of the 1998 anime series and the thirty-first episode of Lodoss overall, including the 1990 OVA series. This episode marks the second appearance of Karla, now no longer in Woodchuck's body.

Summary[]

The group arrive near the temple and engage a small Marmo force. Spark goes to find Little Neese while Garrack and the others hold off the Marmo soldiers. Little Neese is unable to stop some dark elves from stealing the Staff of Life when she encounters Jay. Not realising she is the Doorway they attack her only for her to be saved by Spark. After killing Jay, the Marmo flee having accomplished their mission and another Dark Nightmare appears to kidnap Little Neese. Spark with the help of Garrack, Greevus and Aldonova slow the Dark Nightmare enough for Little Neese to wake up and close the portal. Little Neese decides to go to Marmo to retrieve the keys and the other decide to join her. Etoh gives the group a ship ride to Kanon. Karla is concerned about Wagnard resurrecting Kardis and confronts him about his intentions.
