A Path Unveiled is the first episode of the Legend of Crystania manga and the first episode of the first tankōban in the Legend of Crystania manga series.
Synopsis[]
Redon is the son of Haven, the lord of Haku, a village in the kingdom of Da’nan. Described as Da’nan’s (potentially) finest knight, but lacking in real-life experience. He is also popular with staff and the villagers.
Earlier, Marquis Malid became the new chancellor of Da’nan and began to act as if he was the kingdom’s ruler. Lord Haven receives news from Kwairde that Malid has begun executing those who oppose him,[1] and that he has sent men to eliminate Haven as well.[2] Aderishia, a priestess of the god of knowledge Rahda, together with Raifan and Obier, have arrived at Haku village for a meeting with Haven to discuss an attack on Malid. Redon attempts to eavesdrop on the conversation, but is caught. His father asks him to go with Madam Aderishia to The Gods’ Wall, a large green-scaled wall that separates Da’nan from Crystania, the “Land of the Gods”.[3]
At the Gods’ Wall, Redon laments his father’s way of thinking--Redon wants to fight in a war against Malid, but his father believes war brings harm to the people. When the sorcerer Nasare is asked for his opinion, he shifts the subject to the Gods’ Wall and believes that one day they will be able to cross it. Suddenly, a great white swan ascends and Redon hears a voice telling him that moments from now the path to Crystania will open. The earth begins to shake and a huge crack appears in the wall.[4]
