Chapter: 01 is the first episode of the The Crown of the Covenant manga and the first episode of the first tankōban of The Crown of the Covenant manga series. The chapter introduces a new main character to Lodoss called Lyle, a crown prince of Marmo.
Synopsis[]
After years of war, Lodoss has finally returned to a state of peace and to maintain this peace, each of the six rulers on Lodoss was given a magical crown, symbolizing their pact of peace. However, only about a century later signs of war are coming from the kingdom of Flaim when Diaz, the newly crowned king of Flaim, refuses to wear the crown.
Later, the kingdom of Marmo has received a letter from Flaim requesting them to attack the kingdom of Kanon. Three crown princes of Marmo, Alucia the second in line, Zayd the third in line and Lyle the fourth in line all have different ideas about how to respond to the letter. In the end, Alucia decides to take the crown of Marmo, in the absence of their elder brother Creed, the first in line, who vanished after the passing of their father. As the new ruler Alucia will uphold the laws of their country and oppose Flaim. Zayd decides to join Flaim with a woman named Bina and marry her to Flaim's crown prince Payat. Once in Flaim, he will try to plot a rebellion against Marmo and hopes to gain influence within the Flaim royal family. Finally, Lyle will set out the find the eternal maiden Deedlit in the Forest of No Return and seek her aid.
