Reunited with King Kashue is the first episode of The Fire Demon and the first episode of the first book in The Fire Demon manga series.

Synopsis[]

The story begins two years after the War of Heroes. Lodoss is still healing from the chaos and disorder that the war brought upon the land. In Flaim, in the Temple of Ifrit, a dark haired, dark cloaked man releases the king spirit Ifrit. He announces himself as Azumo, the one who owns the covenant.[1]

Meanwhile, Parn has been on a path to defeat Karla and he has heard of a rumour that a dark haired magic user is active in Flaim and causing a war. Suspecting this might be Karla he, together with Deedlit, sets out to Flaim to investigate.[2] Parn believes Karla is responsible for all the wars on Lodoss and wants to defeat her definitively to attain true peace. Moreover, Karla may still be in possession of his friend Woodchuck's body.[3]

When Parn and Deedlit arrive in the capital city Blade Parn senses war brooming. He recalls Ghim's death and the loss of Woodchuck and laments the continuous battles on Lodoss, saying it's all Karla's doing.[4]

Azumo releases Ifrit (Blazing Devil manga)

Azumo releases Ifrit.

At Akroyd Castle Parn and Deedlit reunite with King Kashue and Parn explains his reasons for coming here. He asks Kashue if the magic user from the Tribe of Fire, who Kashue currently is at war with, might be Karla, but Kashue isn't sure who his opponent is.[5] Kashue explains what happened so far. The Tribe of Fire had recently become active again. Kashue's forces were able to repel them, until at some point a great number of salamanders appeared. There is also a rumour that the same sorcerer released Ifrit.[6] Parn observes that Karla uses ancient magic and is not a summoner. Parn and Kashue want to know the truth about the Salamanders and urge Deedlit, also a summoner, to use her powers to summon one. Deedlit reluctantly agrees, but after invoking her spell Ifrit suddenly appears.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Flaim, Azumo informs Nardia that he trapped the Flaim army and that the 500 year war between their Tribe of Fire and Kashue's Tribe of Wind are coming to an end.[7]
