Time of Departure is the second episode of the Legend of Crystania manga and the second episode of the first tankōban in the Legend of Crystania manga series.
Synopsis[]
Redon notices a large number of hoof prints near the The Gods’ Wall, which he suspects belong to Malid’s Royal Guard. Believing his father could be in danger he rushes back to Haku village.[1]
At Haku, Obier has snuck inside Lord Haven’s mansion to assassinate him, but Haven notices his presence and the two men engage in a duel. Meanwhile, Sir Russell, an officer of Malid’s Royal Guard, has begun his attack on Haku, as observed by his young son Rails.[2] Redon arrives in time to see his father best Obier, but to everyone's shock Haven's stabs himself. Before he dies, he says Malid is a good ruler by nature, and he can solve this war by just removing himself from the equation.[3] Redon flees the scene. Obier feels deceived Russell for sending him to kill someone who he now views as a good man. Sir Russell orders his men to find Redon.
Redon and Kwairde reunite with Nasare and Aderishia. Chased by Russell’s men, the group hurries to the Gods’ Wall. At the wall, the group decide to use the crack to climb the wall into Crystania, where Redon hopes to find the strength he needs to overcome Malid.[4] Unbeknownst to Redon and his comrades, Obier has decided to follow them.[5]
