Another Neece is the sixth episode of the sixth Chronicles of the Heroic Knight manga volume and the thirty-fifth episode overall.

Synopsis[]

Neese, with help from Spark continues to resist Wagnard. Therefor, Wagnard tries to remind her of her "other self." His spell should have brought memories to her consciousness of Naneel, the high priestess of Kardis.[1] Over a century ago, Kardis was the predominent faith on Marmo. When that faith began to decline, Naneel, hoping that Kardis would one day be revived, sacrificed her soul through a reincarnation spell. Years later, Leylia became the reincarnation of Naneel. Her soul was purified by elder Neese, and thus Leylia was no longer fit to be a Doorway. However, the Naneel curse was passed on to Leylia's daughter Little Neese.[2] Wagnard then attempts another spell on Little Neese, and now successfully awakens Naneel. With Naneel resurrected, Wagnard requests a wish from her. Spark shouts at Wagnard not to resurrect Kardis. Wagnard replies he is not interested in Kardis' resurrection, but merely wants to tap into her power so he can finally overcome the geas spell that his master Larcus put on him. Naneel grants Wagnard his wish.

Spark is appalled by Wagnard's selfishness, grabs a nearby sword, and pierces Wagnard with it.[3] At that moment, Sparks friends all enter the room. Elsewhere in the castle, Jiba has killed several of Luzeev's dark elves, when he suddenly hears Wagnard talk to him telepathically, saying he'll keep his promise and Jiba can do what he wants, which makes Jiba grin.[4]

Spark and his friends don't know what to do with Neese, when suddenly Wagnard, as an entity coming his former Wagnard's body, tells them that Kardis cannot be resurrected yet, as "Neese" is currently still in conflict: she's neither Neese nor Naneel. When Ryna asks him if that means the resurrection may not be at hand, "Wagnard" states he never intended to resurrect Kardis, but Jiba may have other plans.[5] Jiba then appears.
