Melody of Light and Dark is the first episode of the second Chronicles of the Heroic Knight manga volume and the sixth episode overall.
Synopsis[]
Spark and his party have stumbled upon some survivors of a dark elf attack. According to one survivor the dark elves aren't far away. Spark can't take his mind off of Kashue's war in Alania. Greevus finds Spark to be impatient. Spark decides to focus on the retrieval mission.[1]
Garrack, who is alone with Ryna, tells her he doesn't trust her and believes she is a thief, not a mercenary. Ryna doesn't deny it.[2] Greevus spots some shady figures who may be the dark elves. When the party decides to race after them, they stumble upon a young priestess.[3] The young priestess warns the party to not go any further, as the dark elves are waiting in ambush. Suddenly, a dark elf sneaks up on Ryna from behind and stabs her in the chest.[4]
