Opening the Forest II is the sixth episode of Deedlit’s Tale and the second episode of “Forest of No Return”, the second and final book in the Deedlit’s Tale manga series.
Summary[]
Deedlit and Leaf arrive near Deedlit's village and meet Estas, who isn't happy Deedlit took a half-elf with her to the village. To the village elder, Deedlit proposes to lift the curse on the Forest of No Return. The other elves react shocked. The elder explains the curse exists to protect the forest from humans—why lift it for them?
Meanwhile, Parn, still trapped in the "curse", finds the golden tree and attempts to strike it with his sword. The tree is the source of the forest's curse. The golden tree is born from the ancient tree and bears life essence.
Deedlit enters the spirit world and there she meets with Ent, the king spirit of the forest. Similar to Jinn and Ifrit in The Fire Demon, a covenant was formed with Ent for the protection of the forest and Deedlit has now travelled to the spirit world to end it.
