A Path Sealed is the sixth episode of the Legend of Crystania manga and the first episode of the second tankōban in the Legend of Crystania manga series.
Synopsis[]
Redon stands face-to-face with the Gods’ King Barbas, whose image appears in the sky above the fort. Barbas tells Redon to remember why he came to Crystania and when he remembers, he'll provide him with that which he came for. The army of Beldia has begun invading the fort. Boakes tries to lead Redon away from the battle, but Redon decides to stay and participate. During the battle, he meets with Matisse, who teaches him the basics of fighting against Barbas' army.[1]
The Beldian army breaches through the fort's gates and the battle is turning in Barbas’ favour. At that moment, Redon realizes that Crystania is no different from Da’nan. Both suffer from a never-ending fight for power.[2] Barbas speaks to Redon again, remarking he is remembering his wish: power. Redon promises to attain the power he seeks and then return to Da’nan to overthrow Malid. He vows to never lose to those who only rely on power.[3]
When Aderishia sees Redon is safe, she runs towards him and hugs him. For a moment, her gaze and that of Barbas meet. Barbas smiles and disappears and his army retreats. The retreat doesn't sit well with Boakes, as the Beldian army had the upper hand. Suddenly, another earthquake occurs. Not much later Rio of the Tribe of the Snake appears. Redon wants to leave Crystania and return to Da’nan, but Rio tells him Rumiss has sealed the path they took to get here. With The Gods’ Wall now closed and no way for Redon and the others to return to Da’nan and overthrow Malid, Redon wonders why he was led to Crystania.[4]
