Opening the Forest III is the seventh episode of Deedlit’s Tale and the third episode of “Forest of No Return”, the second and final book in the Deedlit’s Tale manga series.
Summary[]
Ent, the king spirit of the forest, remarks Deedlit is not authorized to deal with the covenant. She asks Ent to test her, which he does, but Deedlit fails and wakes up in Estas’ arms. Estas says the village elder forged the covenant with Ent, but Deedlit is no match for the elder.
Deedlit tries to argue with the elder to end the covenant with Ent, but doesn't convince her. Leaf steps in and explains how her parents, a male elf and a female human, fell in love with each other and lived side-by-side in an elf village. The elves in that village did not accept Leaf. Elves persecuted her for her human blood, while humans persecuted her for her elf blood. Regardless, Leaf was happy, because her parents taught her about both worlds. Estas shares some words of understanding for the human race, and how the lifes of elves is stale in comparison, and Deedlit tells the elder she is in love with the man who is now trapped in the curse. The elder eventually decides to lift the curse.
Leaf tells Deedlit that if she wants a child with Parn, she is sure the child will be happy.
