The Traveling Minstrel Sings is the eighth episode of Deedlit’s Tale and the third episode of “Forest of No Return”, the second and final book in the Deedlit’s Tale manga series.
Summary[]
In a pub somewhere on Lodoss Strall listens to a minstrel sing a song about Kastuul, his former kingdom that collapsed 500 years ago. He overhears other visitors talk about how the spell on the Forest of No Return was lifted, and that everybody who was trapped there returned home, without having aged. Strall realizes at that moment that he has been trapped in the forest for 500 years and that his kingdom no longer exists.
On the streets he meets some thugs, attempts to use magic, but then finds out he can't draw power from Kastuul's magic tower anymore, and flees. He later meets the travelling minstrel from before and asks her to sing the same song again. From her he learns what allegedly happened to Kastuul. He then plans his revenge on the high elves, who took everything from him by trapping him for 500 years, except his life. He is now the last ruler of Kastuul.
