What Comes in Summer (真夏に訪れし者, manatsu ni otozureshi mono) is the ninth episode of the Rune Soldier anime tv series.

The episode is an adaptation of volume 2 of the Louie the Rune Soldier novel series.

Summary

　It's the middle of the summer and Louie has taken a job as a porter. Ila takes advantage of this, and while out with her on the job, he notices it begin to snow. Returning to the Guild, Ila gets a letter from Master Banarl, a magician who retired to the Tower of the Four Great Magics to complete his weather control research. He asks the group to go with her to the tower to investigate. Along the way, the group meets the elf, Celecia, who joins them. But the road won't be easy with blizzards. To test wether the cold is natural for the area they are in, Celecia summons Sylph, the spirit of the wind, but it goes berserk on Celecia. Louie attacks the Sylph, but Genie says it he can't harm it unless he uses a magically infused weapon or a silver weapon. Louie then infuses his own fist with magic and pummels away at the spirit, saving Celecia, but embarrassing the rest of the group with this method.
