Synopsis[]

Episode 1 - The land where the dragons live[]

Milleus is a sixteen year old boy from an aristocratic family from “Dragon's Eye” Highland in Moss. Showing some sword skill, his father sends him away to become an apprentice Dragon Knight. Another young man, Ford, eldest son of the prestigious House of Deiheim, has also applied. Ford is skilled in combat, charismatic, and was educated by a private tutor from a young age.

The application consists of three tests and concludes in a trial to capture a dragon. Cards are drawn to determine the amount of merceneries one will be accompanied with, but Milleus loses the draw and all three mercenaries go to Ford. Milleus, however, is joined by the thief Volk, the half-elf magician Thiel from the Mirror Forest, and Azir, a shaman from the Fire tribe in Flaim. When the party is about to leave for the trial, Milleus sees a young woman, called Odia, flee her obsessed fiancé after she left Raiden to become a priestess of Pharis. Milleus allows her to accompany him.

Episode 2 - Odd-eye[]

On their way to the Valley of Dragons, the party encounters a band of goblins attack a man. The party save the man, a knight from “Dragon Flame” Harken, who is escorted back to Highland by a Highland scout who had been monitoring the party.

With Volk's thief abilities, the party finds a cave that leads to the Valley of Dragons. In the valley, the party enters a hut and meet an old man with a dragon egg. Ford and his mercenaries arrive not much later and suddenly the egg begins to hatch, giving birth to twin dragons; a male with a solid body and female with heterochromian eyes; one golden and the other silver. Milleus picks the female dragon and calls her Odd-eye.

Episode 3 - Overture of bloody history[]

Following the trial, a banquet is held in Highland. At the banquet, Duke Mycen announces that a report has come in stating that the Duke of Skard, a small duchy in the south of Moss, and his daughter have gone missing and Sir Deiheim will be sent to investigate the matter. Ford requests to escort his father, but Mycen picks Milleus for that task. Later, Milleus finds himself unconscious and with his dragon flute stolen. Odia quickly discovers it was her fiancé Buppe, who used poison from a Thieves’ Guild that was actually meant for her. Volk is sent to investigate. He is tipped off and given the name Grunove, an apprentice Dragon Knight whose father had fallen out of grace for following the god of darkness Phalaris.

The party visits Grunove's home and find a journal with cryptic information on a pendant in Grunove's possession. The party rushes to Highland's dragon house and find Grunove using the dragon flute on Odd-eye. With the pendant on his neck, Grunove transforms into a demon, but Volk manages to snatch the pendant from him and Grunove returns to his normal self.

Episode 4 - Milleus goes south[]

For their escorting mission, the party is joined by a wizard called Soto, Captain Vermillion, the muscular and bald Clay, and the twins Ferrino and Ferralni. On their way they meet a young boy called Leak whose hunter father has gone missing. Leak joins the party to Harken, where he believes his father might be. Another while later, the party is ambushed by elves from the Mirror Forest. The elves state they are searching for a human named Randy, who is Leak's father.

Episode 5 - The Crow clan[]

One of the elves, Silky, explains that essence from the Life Tree was stolen and they suspect Randy. Volk says they agree to help the elves find Randy, in exchange for help getting past a broken bridge. The elves join the party and they eventually find a suspicious cave. Deep inside the cave they meet a black-robed man who Leak recognises as his father. The man suddenly changes into demon and introduces himself as Visal, a subordinate of demon general Garado. A battle ensues, but Visal is eventually defeated by the party and destroyed by Odd-eye.

Now able to pass the broken bridge, the party continue the escort mission until they arrive in Harken.

Episode 6 - The Demon King appears![]

In Harken Deiheim learns that the Duke of Skard and his daughter have gone missing. Milleus and his companions are sent to Skard to investigate. In Skard they find only corpses, and one demon they do decide not to encounter. On their way back to Harken, they meet Nasher, the Prince of Skard, and his companions Tina, a warrior priestess of Myrii, and the swordsman Holt. The party splits up, with Odia and Azir going to Harken to get mercenaries with some gold from Nasher, and Milleus, Thiel, Volk and Nasher's party returning to Skard. The party learns that some people from Skard are kept prisoner in the Demon City, while others co-operate with the demons.

When a carriage with prisoners leaves Skard to the Demon City, Milleus and the others attack it. They defeat the demons and release the prisoners.

Episode 7 - Precious sacrifice[]

After the rescue, Nasher wants to return to Skard to collect treasured items, including Skard's ruler's magical sword. The group of twelve use a secret passage, beating a door mimic along the way, to enter Grain Hold, the royal castle of Skard. Inside the castle, the party encounters and defeats more demons, losing Thiel in the fight, before Nasher retrieves the magical sword.

Meanwhile, an enormous thunderous cloud is approaching Skard, along with a carriage made of bones. Azir believes the cloud is alive.

Episode 8 - Into the dark clouds[]

The sentient cloud makes contact with the royal castle, and lifts it into the air, making it impossible for the party to escape it. The party members take several items from the treasury, including the Rope of Accordance, the Mirror of Return and other items. A necklace that can return the dead to life is put on Thiel, who then hears the voice of a sorcerer of Kastuul, who says there are thirteen stones hidden in the necklace that allows the wearer to cast powerful spells. When all stones are used, however, the person will be possessed by the sorcerer's soul. Thiel has not yet returned to life, but is able to watch over his companions and intervene with magic.

Thiel casts a meteor spell, blowing a gaping hole in the castle wall. The party goes through it before it regenerates. They encounter two groups of ant-like creatures and beat them, before the find a nucleus, the core of the living cloud. After a ranged battle, the nucleus is destroyed and the castle crashes to the ground.

Episode 9 - The Deepest Labyrinth[]

The castle's crash leaves the party unconsciousness. While unconscious, some party members encounter doppelgängers disguised as themselves. When the party wakes up they all find themselves unarmed and without Nasher, but with Thiel.

While trying to get out, the party hears voices and decide to pretend to still be unconscious. The voices belong to a large demon general, named Godis and an incubus. Godis states that the Demon King needs to hurry up and destroy this world. When the demons leave, the party tries to continue their escape, but encounter another demon general, Garado of the Crow clan. Garado gives the party their weapons back and informs them the demons will attack “Dragon Flame” Harken. He also informs the party they are now in the Deepest Labyrinth, and helps them escape it. He then casts a spell on Milleus, making him look like a demon. This way, the party looks like prisoners being escorted by a demon, and in this guise they make their escape.

Episode 10 - Before the storm[]

After a few days of travel the party arrives in Harken, where a representative of each duchy of Moss is present. Milleus informs the Duke of the demon army's plans. It is decided Harken will focus on defence, while “Dragon Scale” Venon will focus on offense. Highland will also participate, meaning Milleus and his companions will join the battle. Odia's fiancé Buppe is also in Harken and has made a large profit there due to a new business venture. He says he can supply everyone with equipment within two weeks.

Episode 11 - Demon army invasion[]

Buppe says he needs the help of a Dragon Knight to defeat a cyclops that lives near his route to Raiden, where he gets his equipment from. Milleus, Odia and the others go with him. At the cyclops' area, Buppe splits from the party and continues north to Raiden, while the others stay behind to defeat the cyclops. Buppe's aide hands Odia a letter, saying there is no cyclops and that he wanted her away from the battle with the demons. The whole party decides to return to Harken, but are then attacked by the cyclops. They then understand Buppe's true intention was to have all of them, except Odia, killed. They kill the cyclops and go south.

In Harken, a great number of troops have already been deployed. Tina reunites with the party to look for Nasher. Buppe's supplies have begun to arrive in earnest and Ford announces he will kill the demon general in prove himself the superior Dragon Knight.

Odia learns that Buppe has been arrested in Raiden and is facing the death penalty. She reluctantly writes to her wealthy father in Raiden for help. Within a week left of the predicted attack, thousands of demons are reportedly seen heading to Harken.

Episode 12 - Dawn of the Demon Wars[]

The final battle begins. Milleus and Ford ride their dragons Odd-eye and Crystal Claw to face the winged demons, while the others fight the demons on the ground. Demon general Godis appears, infiltrates the throne room and does battle with the Duke, Captain Ditka and the knights. Milleus, Azir, Thiel, Odia, and Volk arrive to help. Demon general Garado appears as well and casts a spell on Odd-eye, causing the spiritual fire within her to go out of control. Odd-eye and Godis continue their battle, until they crash out of the window and falling from the high cliff outside.

Garado laughs and says the demons' desire is for all humans to follow the path of self-destruction. A dying Odd-eye appears behind him and breaths her final flames toward him. Garado changes into a giant crow and escapes. Odd-eye leaves behind two curious orbs; a silver one and a gold one. Both armies have suffered significant damage and the demon army retreats to the Deepest Labyrinth.

Odia returns to Raiden to prevent Buppe's execution; Thies returns to the Mirror Forest with his new spells; Azir returns to Flaim; Volk returns to Alania in pursuit of treasure and women, and Milleus pledges to travel all over Lodoss to discover the meaning behind the orbs Odd-eye left him. Bards soon sing songs of the dragon-less Dragon Knight.
