Synopsis[]

Prologue - Departure[]

Following the events from the second RPG replay, Thiel realised that he had retained a great portion of Prestodivea's knowledge and power. Using his new powers, he has been creating many magical items. After hearing reports of demons created from the Golden Tree appearing in the north, he leaves the village to gain vengeance.

Ferio and Scarface are raising baby Gradical in Alan, Alania. She hopes that one day the baby becomes an excellent sorcerer, capable of releasing the petrified Lucent one day. Because of financial problems, Ferio heads out to Raiden, where huge bounties have been placed on demon heads. She leaves the baby in the care of Scarface.

Milleus has been travelling around Lodoss with the two orbs that Odd-eye left him. He has defeated many demons since, but after the last victory, the silver and gold orbs have begun to glow and Milleus feels an immense power flowing through his body, the power of a dragon.

Dioren, the thirty-two-year-old follower of the god of knowledge Rahda is hunting demons because he wishes to study their anatomy. Suna is a female assassin pretending to be a thief. She is highly motivated by money and dreams of having her own castle.

Episode 1 - The great bounty[]

Ferio, Suna, and Dioren are attracted to Raiden's bounties and happen to run into each other at Kiyuon, a village in the north of Moss. Thiel is also there. From the mayor and the merchant Miryu they learn the bounty for each type of demon; the stronger the demon, the bigger the reward. Recently two nearby villages were destroyed by demons, therefore a large bounty has been announced to deal with the problem.

The party is invited into Miryu's cottage, where they meet the local thieves Mars and Greg. Thiel notices someone who looked like Miryu watching from the window. Thiel sends his cat Uze to investigate and uses a spell on it so he can see through the cat's eyes. The person who looks like Miryu enters the mayor's house and appears to leave a note in a desk.

The next morning, Miryu reveals he has uncovered information from now deceased scouts that many demons are approaching from an old ruin. He takes Mars, Greg, Ferio, Thiel, Suna and Dioren to investigate with him. When the party spots lesser demons, pseudo life-form demons (demon spawn) and Dioren calls upon the power of Rahda, it is revealed Miryu is a doppelgänger. Suddenly, a Dragon Knight is spotted in the sky. His dragon burns some of the lesser demons, and the surviving demons, including the doppelgänger, flee. The Dragon Knight appears to be Milleus, who is now able to call forth the spirit of Odd-eye with the orbs. Meanwhile, the others are disappointed they can't collect bounty from the melted demons.

Episode 2 - Demon soldier culture[]

The event appears to be a plot of the demons the decrease the size of the Hundred Heroes volunteer force. The party returns to the village and open the letter in the mayor's desk, which is a message from a demon general to the Demon King saying that the village will be destroyed in one week. Milleus suspects the letter is from Garado. The villagers are evacuated to a nearby village by Milleus and others, while Greg, Mars and others set up defenses. When Milleus and the villagers arrive in the neighbouring village, they find it has been attacked by demons. Despite this, the villagers and the mayor are left in the village, and the party returns to Kiyuon.

Milleus, Mars, Greg, Thiel and others decide to investigate the ruins the demons reportedly came from. Inside the ruins they find a dome shaped room; the breeding chamber. In the middle of the room is a strange cocoon. Inside the room are lesser demon and pseudo life-forms. The A battle ensues between the party and the demons, with the party coming out on top, but the demons used a lever to trap the party in the room. Thiel notices something was removed from the cocoon. In the centre of the room, Suna finds a young naked girl who appears to be around 17 years old. The girl says her name is Galatea and that she was part of an adventuring party. Her companions were ambushed and killed, but that's all she can recall.

The party checks some of the equipment in the back of the room, hoping they can find something to trigger Galatea's memory. They find tools with an emblem Milleus' former companion Odia also had. They also find a letter addressed to Galatea from her parents, signed by Balden Biscatore. Thiel discovers a magic dagger, magic greatsword and to magic rings.

When the party emerges above ground, they discover a host of archdemons and lesser demons have gathered. Among them is the demon general Garado. The demon army is heading to Raiden, where the party wants to collect their bounty and return Galatea to her parents.

Episode 3 - I want to be a horse![]

In Raiden, the party meets with Balden, a part-time director of the Raiden Council. Balden is overjoyed to see his daughter again, but he becomes worried when he notices the mole under her eye is gone. Suspecting Galatea is a doppelgänger, Thiel wants to cast a spell, but Balden forbids him and arranges a mage of his choosing.

Sometime later, Suna receives a death threat per a letter from someone called Death Mask. Another while later, she dines with the rest of the party at an inn, but Suna suspects the drinks are laced with poison. Thiel suspects Balden, so he and Ferio use their familiars Uze the cat and Poe the owl to spy on Balden's mansion. After a while, they notice Balden dragging Galatea in a carriage and taking off. Thiel gives Suna a ring and it causes her to transform into a horse and Milleus mounts her. The party follows Balden, but stop at a Temple of Pharis because they are unable to get past the guards. At the temple Milleus and Thiel are reunited with Odia. She helps Milleus, Ferio and Dioren sneak out of Raiden, while Suna and Thiel use their animal transformations to sneak out.

The carriage has gotten too far away from the party, so Thiel uses difficult transformation ability to transform into a dragon. The four companions mount the dragon and catch up to the carriage. The carriage suddenly charges at the party, with its black horses breathing fire. The party engages in a fight with the carriage and its coachman, who looks like Balden. During the fight, the coachman transforms into a demon, but is beheaded by a dragon's tooth warrior summoned by Ferio. Dioren is able to succesfully awaken the conscious Galatea, but Suna, who was cursed by the coachman during the fight when trying to protect Galatea, appears to be in troubled condition. When Suna protected Galatea and was attacked by the coachman, a strange light emitted from Galatea.

Episode 4 - Biological endowment[]

The party decides to go to the Academy of Sages in Alan, Alania to learn more about Galatea. They travel via Valis, where they hope to cure Suna's condition. On their way they are attacked by bandits. When they are reunited with Mars and Greg, they learn that the demon general Garado placed a bounty on their heads. Thiel transforms into a dragon again and quickly takes his companions to Valis.

In Valis, the party learns a high priest from Raiden is visiting the place. Milleus wonders if it might be Odia's superior, who was also said to be in the area. The second night in Valis, the party discovers that that their meals have been laced with poison. Apparently an old man had recently visited the temple and donated food. Could it be the same man who attempted to poison them in Raiden? The next morning high priest Yog visits the temple and cures Suna, but is unable to help Galatea. The party continues their journey to the Academy of Sages in Alan.

In Alan, the party take Galatea to Headmaster Larcus, who promises to study her. While the party stays at an inn, Suna notices someone in the kitchen sprinkle powder on the food. She follows the person outside, who is revealed to be Death Mask. After a battle, Suna manages to kill Death Mask.

Sometime later, Larcus has discovered that Galatea is a being created with magic. Thiel, using Prestodivea's memories, recalls a certain Kastuulian sorcerer named Gourd, who specialized in endowment magic. Further research in the Academy's library reveals Gourd wanted to create a living organism and built a research facility near Lenoana Lake. Larcus teleports the party, with Galatea, to nearby the lake.

After searching for a while, the party discover hidden ruins, which they enter and find to be in surprisingly good condition. After traversing through the ruins and encountering some demon spawn, which exploded upon defeat, they eventually enter a laboratory room, with the figure of demon general Garado floating around ominously. In the middle of the room is archdemon, and in the back is an illusion of a fiery crater and a heap of large bones. Garado reveals the bones belong to Milleus' dragon Odd-eye.

Episode 5 - Regeneration, disappearance, and...[]

Garado explains how, thanks to Gourd's research, he was able to use Odd-eye's spiritual power to create the ultimate demon spawn, which he calls “fire spawn”. He then takes off and the party is left to fight the archdemon and demon spawn. When the demons are defeated, the party escapes the ruins. Milleus deduces that the illusion of the fiery crater must be Fire Dragon Mountain, so the party decides to go there next.

At Fire Dragon Mountain, the party encounters Garado once more, who has a skeletal Odd-eye fighting for him. Garado states he needs Milleus' golden and silver orbs so he can perfect his spawns. Suna, Dioren, Ferio and Galatea are attacked by thirty fire spawn. Galatea calls out to Milleus, saying she can revive Odd-eye if she gets close enough to the dragon. Milleus, using a special hat obtain from the ruins that allows him to fly, descends to pick up Galatea and flies her to the skeletal Odd-eye. Garado uses magic to lower the party's offense.

When Milleus flies above skeletal Odd-eye, Galatea slips from his grip and falls towards Odd-eye. A light emits from her body and she turns into a branch from the Golden Tree. Milleus' orbs also fall toward the dragon, and the next moment Odd-eye is resurrected. Meanwhile, the rest of the party are about to be overwhelmed. Milleus, on Odd-eye, flies towards Garado and hits him with his lance, knocking the demon general towards the crater. A fire spawn engulfs Garado, and he takes the form of a red dragon. The red dragon attacks Milleus, while more fire spawn spawn from the crater. Odd-eye latches into red dragon Garado with her claws, and releases Garado into the crater, killing him. Odd-eye transform back into a branch and two orbs. A voice resonates in Milleus' mind, reminding him that the bond between a dragon and its master is eternal.

Milleus was once again without a dragon, but Odd-eye's power would greatly aid him in the final battle against the demons in the Deepest Labyrinth. Suna also traversed the labyrinth, aiming to collect the head of the Demon King. Dioren assisted many of the Hundred Heroes with his healing capabilities, while Ferio returned to Alan to raise the baby with Scarface and hopefully release Lucent one day. Thiel took it upon himself to make a record of the Demon Wars.
