- Bone golems are golems created from magically fusing bones of various organisms into a single entity. They often have four or more extended arms, all wielding an array of weapons, ready to make short work of any intruders.

C[]
- Chimera are demon beasts with the head and torso of a lion, a snake in place of a tail, and a black goat’s neck at its back. A chimera appears in Record of Lodoss War Next Generation: Inheritors of the Flame.
- Cockatrice are chicken-ish creatures with a lizard-like tail. They have the ability to turn those who touch them to stone. A cockatrice appears in chapter 3 of Record of Lodoss War Next Generation: The Demon Beast of the Forest of Darkness, where it it described to have a magnificent cockscomb and a yellow beak.

- Crocodile are large reptilian creatures, agile in water.
- Cyclops are an ancient species, rumoured to be the ancestor of the primordial giant. They are the tallest giants, with some reaching over ten metres tall. They have a horn-like protrusion on their heads and wear little more than rags or loincloths. Brown bristles of hair grow in patches on their brown skin. These creatures make extremely tough opponents and will attack intruders mercilessly. They often make their territories on remote beaches.
D[]
- Demons of the soul, or soul demons, are the strongest of the lesser demons. It uses physical strength and is an adept at utilising magic. Because it is thin, it somewhat resembles a skeleton. From its left arm, at elbow height, the arm takes a sharp, bowed shape, almost like a scythe. The demon of the soul appears in Eternal Returner’s fourth story.

- Doppelgängers, also called mirror demons, are an upper demon species that can take the image of the person by biting their heads off. Some doppelgängers have even been able to take someone's image without killing that person.

- Ethnoa are giant plants with a huge open-mouthed pouch. They attack anyone who comes near.
F[]
- Fire giants are an ancient species, known as the ancestors of the primordial giant. These giants are over eight metres tall, and have reddish-brown skin and crimson or raven hair. They are violent, extremely territorial creatures, which is why they are feared by humans.

- Forest giants are an ancient species, believed to be the ancestor of the primordial giant. Forest giants are over seven metres tall, and live in forests. They have pale hair on their heads and dark body hair. The forest giants are known for their short tempers and will usually attack creatures smaller than themselves, which they view as prey.

- Giant tarantula are large, venomous, web-spinning spiders.

- Gremlins are creatures also known as “Little Flying Devils.” They have thin figures with dark brown skin and black bat wings attached to their backs. Gremlins have insidious personalities and enjoy ridiculing others. It is one of the few races that are able to handle spirit magic.

- Grunels (グルネル, Guruneru) are a demon species. They have bronze skin, deep navy-blue eyes, and a long tail. They can move their tail freely, using it as a whip or wrapping it around the body of an opponent. Their claws are not so well developed so they attack holding weapons in both hands. Grunels appear in the Legend of Lodoss novel series.
- Gryphons (グリフォン, Gurifon) are mystic beasts with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion, and the head and wings of an eagle with its talons on the front legs. A gryphon appears in chapter 3 of Record of Lodoss War Next Generation: The Demon Beast of the Forest of Darkness.
H[]
- Harpy are half-bird, half-human demon beasts. A harpy appears in Record of Lodoss War Next Generation: Inheritors of the Flame.
- Hecatoncheires, also known as the “Hundred Handed Giant,” are creatures that are nearly four metres tall. Their origin is unclear, but it appears that they might have been created due to a curse laid on them by the Ancient Kingdom of Kastuul. It seems they were often used to protect treasures and secrets in underground labyrinths and ancient ruins. Their personalities seem to be as diverse as humans; there are both good and interesting evil giants. Among Hecatoncheires there are also Hecatoncheires cleric, which are “Hundred Handed Giants” that serve a god. They have some philosophy or belief in line with one of the doctrines of the gods they worship.
- Hellhounds are demons that resemble large hounds.
- Hill giants are an ancient species, and are said to be of the primordial giant’s bloodline. They typically have blonde or light brown hair and are six metres tall. They can cause great destruction. However, contrary to the impression given by their physiques, Hill Giants are usually calm and graceful, and do not attack other intelligent races unless they are provoked.
- Hippogryphs (ヒッポグリフ, Hippogurifu) are mystic beasts with the front half of an eagle and the hind half of a horse. A hippogryph appears in Record of Lodoss War Next Generation: Inheritors of the Flame. In The Crown of the Covenant, Lyle and his comrades frequently fly hippogryphs Redbeak and Whitehead.
- Hobgoblins are close relatives of goblins, though they are distinguishable by their long hair as opposed to the bald goblins. They are strong and durable creatures who prefer a nomadic life. Some can be found working as bouncers for goblins in their settlements. In a population consisting only of hobgoblins, there are some individuals who have trained their shooting skills to become experts with the bow. These hobgoblins are called the “Hobgoblin sniper.”
- Hobgoblin leader are strong individuals that lead a population of Hobgoblins. Their combat power is similar to Goblin Lord but due to its inferior intellect they make less effective commanders.
- Homunculus is, among all of the magical creatures, the closest to a normal human life form. They are humanoids with heights that range between ten and twenty centimetres and have a wide range of personalities. They follow commands from their masters, but the Homunculus clearly have a will of their own. Some even try to kill or escape from their masters. The art on how to create these creatures had mostly been lost. However, there are some Homunculi that are being manufactured deep in the ancient ruins. There had to be as the life forms are doomed to expire in a few years, they have a maximum lifespan of ten years.
- Hydra are multi-headed reptile-ish beasts. Hydra are seen in the Chronicles of the Heroic Knight anime, in RPG Replay 5, and in chapter 5 of the novel Record of Lodoss War Next Generation: The Demon Beast of the Forest of Darkness.

- Immortal beasts are of the species immortal creatures, and appear like a fog that radiates a yellow light. It can drain the life force of living things that come within the fog. It starts small, only affecting smaller life forms, but as it drains their life force it will continue to grow and can grow infinitely. The larger it grows, the bigger the life forms it can kill. An immortal beast appears in Fog of Revenge, a story in High Elf Forest: Deedlit's Tale, where the sorcerer Strall uses it against the Forest of No Return.
- Imps have small horns on their heads, bat-like wings protruding from their back, spear tipped tails with dark brown skin and the figure of a small devil. Naturally they make good dark priests and dark mages. They are often used as minions, but their ecology is not known in detail.
- Iron golems are golems made from iron. They are incredibly tough and no ordinary adventurer could compete with them in one on one combat.

- Kobold leader is a veteran kobold warrior leading a group of kobolds. These cautious individuals are the leaders of kobolds when they are not under the command of goblins.

- Lamia are demon beasts with the upper body being human, while the lower part of the body is a snake.
- Living armours are golems that mimic suits of armour. Beneath their armament they are completely hollow. Unfortunately the armour distorts when the creature is killed, therefore it cannot be reused.
- Lizardman are an intelligent humanoid reptilian creatures. They walk on two legs and are very resistant to fire magic.
- Lynx are felid demon beasts with mystical perceptual powers that make it almost impossible to approach it without being noticed. A lynx appears in Record of Lodoss War Next Generation: Inheritors of the Flame.
M[]
- Manticore a large winged creature with the body of a lion and the tail of a scorpion from which it shoots venom. A manticore named Tetra appears in Record of Lodoss War Next Generation: Inheritors of the Flame.
- Medusa are half-human half-snake creatures with serpentine hair. They have the ability to turn people to stone when they gaze upon her.
- Minotaur are monsters with the head of a bull. A minotaur appears in Legend of Lodoss: The Saint of the Supreme God who kills Ares, the son of the King of Valis.
- Mithril golems are silver golems made of the toughest mineral known to man. They stand at four metres tall, and are almost impregnable to defeat. Once these golems are finally defeated, their bodies will completely oxidise. There are only said to be a few of these creatures left in the whole of Forcelia.
- Mud bugs are insects known to exist on Marmo. Though they seem harmless by themselves, they are capable of forming the mud around them into humanoid formations, called mud formations, and use these formations to attack people. Mud bugs appear in episode 23 of the Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight TV series, where they attack Spark, Parn, Garrack and Maar, but are defeated when the party learns they have to attack the bug within the formation, rather than the mud formation.

- Mummy are undead revived via ancient magic.
- Mutant monsters are deformed human males that reach heights of two and a half metres. These abominations can have any number of anomalies, such as three or more extra arms, tails instead of legs, or their entire bodies might be covered in scales. They were once humans but were subjected to cruel experiments by the sorcerers of the ancient kingdom.

- Oak golems are a type of puppet golem. They are the size of a human toddler. Oaks looks like a rough doll made of wood.
- Obsidian dogs are creatures that mimic statues and ambush unsuspecting victims.

- Ogre chieftains aree strong individuals among Ogres. Therefore they often have several Ogres as subordinates.

- Pixie are tiny elf-like fairies.
R[]
- Ragnakang (ラグナカング, ragunakangu) are upright lesser demons. Their physical attributes change often. They have extremely long necks and dragon-like heads. They have large wings and are capable of flying quite fast. Their claws are very sharp, making them a weapon of choice together with their fangs. Ragnakangs are aggressive and dangerous enemies. They appear in the Legend of Lodoss novel series and in Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth. In the latter, they can change their skin colour from orange to blue and vice-versa, with the colour indicating their elemental strength; wind or fire.
- Regram is a type of demon.
- Roc are extremely rare, legendary birds that are only seen in the Wind and Fire Desert. It is said rocs are messengers of the gods. In The Grey Witch manga and novel Parn and his fellows encounter a roc in Valis, but quickly learned that it's actually Karla transformed.[1]
- Rock golems are golems made from rock. There are various shapes that they are constructed as. They make excellent guardians and are often found in ruins.

- Scylla are multi-tentacled water monsters that can take the form of human. In that form, they may lure people closer to them and, once lured within their reach, they will attack their victims. A scylla is mentioned in Record of Lodoss War Next Generation: Inheritors of the Flame. Another scylla plays a large role in Sword World Short Stories: A Leprechaun’s Tears fourth story, Jelayla’s Armour.

- Shii are creatures with heads that resemble grassrunners and they have unusually long limbs with elongated fingers. They are thought to be magical creatures like the Homunculus, except that there are numerous individuals that live deep in ancient ruins. These creatures maintain their own cultures and build settlements and even entire cities. They never voluntarily leave their territory and are highly hostile to any intruders. They take a number of measures to ensure that their isolated community remains untouched.
- Simulacra are golems that were created usually by carving a face into a white flat stone slab and imbuing it with ancient magic. Only three holes are required, two eyes and a mouth hole. Once the conditions specified by the creator are met, the stone slab will manifest into a copy of the opponent in front of it, and proceed to attack. These creatures were originally used to guard against slaves and savages.
- Spartoi see Dragon’s tooth warrior.
- Spriggans are abhorrent creatures with fangs and long claws. They can transform their bodies to grow to heights of three metres and are usually naked. They have cruel personalities and eat raw meat, and they are especially fond of consuming human flesh. Spriggans inhabit forests, hills and mountains, but on occasion they will enter human settlements and try to attack lone victims.
- Stone golems are a type of puppet golem. They have a dwarf-like physique and look like rough stone dolls.
T[]
- Things appear to be wild mimics that have abandoned their vocation. They try to understand human language in a bid to get closer to its victims. When it does, tentacles grow from its upper body which it attacks with. Even without being given a role, these creatures will continue to prey on humans.

- Trolls are extremely primitive and live in dark locations, such as in caves. They are giants with rocky skin. Although their height is three metres, due to their hunched backs and bad posture, they appear shorter.
W[]
- Wights are undead creatures that feed on human life. They can produce creatures from the blood they've sucked.
- Wolfs are canine creatures living in packs. Among those packs one wolf may be the pack's leader. Wolfs may be hostile to humans. In The Crown of the Covenant protagonist Lyle encounters a pack of wolfs while searching for the Eternal Maiden.
- Wraiths (死霊, reisu, also 死霊, shiryō) are spirits of the dead. They first appear in The Fire Demon, where Parn and his companions encounter them in the Tower of Dust Storms while searching for the king spirit Jinn. The wraiths kill Deni, before being dealt with by Leylia.
Y[]
- Yetis are rare giants that stand around two and a half metres in height. They reside in cold, snowy regions, and their entire bodies are covered in white long hair. They are not violent or wicked by nature, but will attack people if they're hungry enough during the winter months, when food is scarce. However, there have been rumours that they can be negotiated with if they are offered other sources of food, as they are omnivores.
