Louie the Rune Soldier (manga)

Louie the Rune Soldier (魔法戦士リウイ, mahō senshi riui), published in Japan as Louie the Rune Soldier: Bastard of the Red Flame (魔法戦士リウイ 紅炎のバスタード, mahō senshi riui kuen no basutādo) is a manga adaptation of the light novel series Louie the Rune Soldier. The original story was written by Ryo Mizuno, the adaptation was done by Jun Sasameyuki. Mamoru Yokota, the illustrator for the novels, is credited as the character designer.

Louie the Rune Soldier is based on the second Rune Soldier novel series. It was released in Japan from 1999 to 2003 by Kadokawa Comics, after serialization in Dragon Jr. magazine. American publisher ADV Manga began publishing an English translation in 2004, but discontinued the series in 2005, after releasing four of the six volumes.

In 2016 a new Louie the Rune Soldier manga, illustrated by Koji Hasegawa and with a scenario by Ozawa Panda, was being made. It was distrubuted digitally by Comic Clear. It was published in tankōban format from 8 July 2016 to 23 November 2018 in five volumes by KADOKAWA Famitsu Clear Comics. It covered the same events as that of the previous manga adaptation. It hasn't received an English translation.
