Michiru Ōshima (大島 ミチル, Ōshima Michiru) is a Japanese composer and arranger. She was born on 16 March 1961 in Nagasaki, Japan. Ōshima began her activities as a composer and arranger while in college, and has been involved in composing music for movies, commercials, TV programs, anime, ambient music and tunes for classical musicians. She is a Kunitachi College of Music graduate.
With over 300 CD's released, Ōshima is one of the most prolific living composers for film, anime and videogame. Among her resumé are scores for several Japanese Godzilla movies, anime such as Fullmetal Alchemist, Queen Emeraldas and Xam’d: Lost Memories. She also composed the score for the videogame The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Ōshima may be regarded as the main composer for Crystania as she was involved with all four albums released for the franchise: the soundtrack for the Crystania audio drama (two CD’s), the soundtrack for the movie and the Crystania Image Album. For the latter she was the only composer.
