Mitsuo Hagita (萩田光雄, Hagita Mitsuo) is a Japanese music composer from Shizuoka prefecture. Hagita studied at Keio University in Minato city, Tokyo prefecture, aiming to make a career as a music composer and arranger. He made his debut as arranger for Asaya Takagi's Solitary Room (ひとりぼっちの部屋, hitori botchi no heya) in 1973. He won an award for Best Arrangement for two consecutive years; in 1975 for The Scent of Cyclamen (シクラメンのかほり, shikuramen no kahori) and in 1976 for Melancholy (メランコリー, merankorī).

Hagita composed the soundtracks for the 1990 OVA Record of Lodoss War and the 1994 audio drama Record of Lodoss War: The Demons of Wind and Fire.

Other projects that Hagita worked on include Giant Gorg, Gundam Evolve and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.
