Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit’s Tale is a manga series about the high elf Deedlit. Through a series of events it tells about the reasons for Deedlit's departure from the Forest of No Return, and her reasons for staying in the human world. The story introduces Estas, a romantic rival who is also a childhood friend of Deedlit attempting to sway her away from Parn and back to the elves. The story involves Deedlit and Parn living in a small village during a dispute over royal oppression and taxation which results in many fatalities. Deedlit and Parn set out to resolve the issue but doing so requires them and their troops to pass through the Forest of No Return. Deedlit tries to convince the elves to remove the curse which would then allow her troops to pass through, but a vengeful victim of the curse has been sabotaging the already unstable relationship between humans and elves.
The manga series was first released in 1998 by Asuka Comics DX, a division of Kadokawa Shoten.[1] It was published in English by CPM Manga in 2002[2] in nine episodes spread over two volumes.
