Record of Lodoss War: The Crown of the Covenant is a light novel written by Ryo Mizuno and illustrated by Hidari. The novel was released in 2019 as part of the 30 year anniversary of the Record of Lodoss War series (the first novel, The Grey Witch was released in 1988). The story takes place 100 years after the main events of the original series and follows Lyle, a prince of Marmo. To preserve peace on Lodoss all rulers were given a diadem to which the kings vowed not to engage in war. An heir in Flaim threatens to break the covenant.

The Japanese cover design has a "1" under the title, indicating this is the first volume of a new series. However, so far no sequels have been announced.

Mizuno came up with the idea for The Crown of the Covenant about 10 years before its release, but didn't have an opportunity to write it at the time. He decided to write it for Lodoss' 30th anniversary.[2] Furthermore, Mizuno believes his stories should have a happy ending, and because of that he believed a sequel may not work well. However, one aspect of Lodoss had always been the relationship between Parn and Deedlit, and with that in mind Mizuno believed it was worthwhile to write a sequel.[3]

In 2020 the novel was adapted in a three volume manga by Atsushi Suzumi.
