Record of Lodoss War: The Grey Witch is a Japanese light novel written by Ryo Mizuno, with illustrations by Yutaka Izubuchi. Hitoshi Yasuda is credited with the original concept. The Grey Witch is the first novel in the Record of Lodoss War light novel series and based on Record of Lodoss War RPG Replay I. It follows the adventures of the son of a dishonored knight, Parn, as he journeys to discover the truth about his father and become a knight. Along the way, he is joined by five other heroes: his childhood friend and priest of Pharis, Etoh; the sorcerer, Slayn; the dwarf craftsman, Ghim; the high elf, Deedlit; and the thief, Woodchuck.

The Grey Witch has been adapted several times. The first eight episodes of the 1990 OVA anime focus on the events of the novel, with the in media res pilot episode adapting the climax of the the original RPG replay. Some new plots and characters are added or expanded on, several events altered, and a few events are omitted. There are also two different manga based on The Grey Witch: one published in 1994 and illustrated by Yoshihiko Ochi, and one published in 2014 and illustrated by Takuma Tomomasa and several videogame adaptations.

American publisher Seven Seas Entertainment acquired the rights for The Grey Witch (and none of the other volumes) and published it in hardcover format in December 2017. The publisher stated it has no plans to translate the other volumes. In March 2018 it released a digital version of the novel. The Grey Witch remains the only volume in the series that has received an English translation.
