Record of Lodoss War: The Lady of Pharis (ロードス島戦記 ファリスの聖女) is a manga series about the first Six Heroes of Lodoss and the warrior priestess Flaus and set during the time of the War of the Demon King. The manga is illustrated by Akihiro Yamada. The manga covers the same events as those of the Legend of Lodoss novel series by Ryo Mizuno, but the stories told in the two series are not entirely identical. The series was published western style (reading left-to-right) in both Japan and the west.
The Lady of Pharis was released in Japan on 6 May 1994 by Dragon Comics in just one volume.[1] On 30 October 2001 it was re-released, this time in two volumes.[2][3] Arguably, the reason why the second volume was released so late was to wait until Mizuno had made enough progress with the Legend of Lodoss novel series, which ran from 1994 to 2002. A third version was released on 10 June 2015, with a new cover design.[4] An English version of volume 1 was published by CPM Manga. They published eight 30-ish page issues on a monthly basis from April to November 1999.[5] They re-published volume 1 in 2003 in tankōbon format and published volume 2, also in tankōbon format, in January 2004.
The Lady of Pharis was the second in a series of manga releases, succeeding The Fire Demon and preceeding The Grey Witch.
