Sword World SFC Comic: Lacquer-black Curse (ソード・ワールドSFC COMIC 漆黒のカース, sōdo wārudo SFC komikku shikkoku no kāsu) is a manga based on the Super Famicom role-playing game Sword World SFC (which was based on the two-volume light novel Sword World: The Island of the Dead God). Group SNE is credited as the author of the original story, while Kotoni Shiraishi is credited with the story for this manga.

The manga was serialized in Marakatsu Famicom (勝ファミコン), a gaming magazine. It was published by Dragon Comics, a division of KADOKAWA, in August 1994, around the same time the videogame was released. It was published in western left-to-right reading format.

Synopsis[]

In the town of Pada on the continent of Alecrast a mysterious addictive drug known as “Devil’s Breath” is causing people to behave erratic and eventually die. A band of adventurers, including warrior Bart, the young sorcerer Rizan, the elf Silarm and the grassrunner Plum investigate what is behind “Devil’s Breath”. As they follow several leads through the town they stumble upon a party led by a female thief called Nightshade and a cult who follow the god Mireef.
