Voice actors[]
Should voice actors be added for these characters if applicable? I.e.: "X is voiced by Y (Japanese) and Z (English) in the OVA, and by A (Japanese) and B (English) in the TV series."
Also, do you plan to eventually add images?
- About the voice actors: sure! And yes, images would be nice, but I can't make good scans (for now) and can't make screenshots either (and I don't want to use a various, mixed quality, stuff from Google either). Perhaps you're willing to make screenshots? -Zantam03 (Talk) 18:08, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
Screenshots[]
All right, I will add voice actors where applicable. Sure, I can take screenshots of whoever. Quick caveat, Chronicles of the Heroic Knight generally had a more muted color palette than the OVA, so while the screenshots would be high quality and not blurry, the colors may look dull/dark.
- That's alright. Thanks! Looking forward to the screens. Btw, if it's not too much trouble. The episode pages for Chronicles are missing a lot of intertitles screens (from episode 7 onward). Could you maybe screenshot those too? -Zantam03 (Talk) 11:23, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
Intertitles[]
Without being a paying member, I can only get the Japanese intertitles with subs from Funimation. (I don't know if the dub version that's on Funimation would have the original English intertitles or not, and my guess is not.) But I can add those as placeholders if you'd like.
- I'm not sure I can ever get the remaining intertitles in English, so yes, the Japanese would be much appreciated. -Zantam03 (Talk) 19:51, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks! You're quick, lol. Ehm.. do you also have them without the subtitles on screen? -Zantam03 (Talk) 18:00, 7 September 2021 (UTC)
Nope, sorry. That's all I can get. I checked one of the first few eps that are available in English (Funimation gives you a limited amount of episodes free in English) to see if I could turn off the subs, but they are built-in. And when watching in Japanese, I cannot turn the subs off.
- Another request, if you don't mind :-). In episode 2 of the TV series you see many forms of Karla as well as her original form. Could you screenshot all of them? (And perhaps also her "main" TV series form somewhere?) In that same episode you also see Saluvan. Maybe you could screenshot him too? And perhaps a shot or two of Kastuul?
Kastuul screenshots[]
Hi Zantam03, I was able to get Karla's original form, Saluvan, and Kastuul, which you'll see in the Upload Log. But I didn't see any other forms of Karla in that episode other than when she takes over the barbarian soldier. Could it possibly be in another episode?
- Hi Legend, thanks again for the screenshots! :-) Hmm I thought all Kastuul-related stuff was in one and the same episode, but I could be misremembering. I remember a short scene where Karla walks away from, iirc a collapsed Kastuul, and her appearance keeps shifting. I'll have a look later and let you know which episode it is. -Zantam03 (Talk) 12:53, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
I found it! It's later in the same episode. I thought that they only talked about Karla in the first half, but Parn does talk about Karla to Shiris after they've set off, and that's when that sequence shows up. I'll have those screenshots of all the different forms for you later.
- I had just found them myself when you left this message lol. Anyway, looking forward to the screens! -Zantam03 (Talk) 17:15, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
- Is it boring to make these screenshots? If possible, I'd like to request some more, lol. -Zantam03 (Talk) 19:09, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
Oh, sorry, I didn't see this until now! Sure, I can help out some more. What do you need?
- Well, I've been adding screenshots to the Legend of Crystania: The Motion Picture and Legend of Crystania: The Chaos Ring episode pages and I think it looks nice. I'd like to see the same for the Lodoss episodes. Not too many per episode though. Just a couple, maybe two or three lines per episode, as long as you like making 'em. Would you be willing to? -Zantam03 (Talk) 09:31, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
As much as I'd love to help create episode galleries, 40 episodes is too much to do. Even the OVA would be too much work. ^^;; So I have to decline, sorry. I can still handle individual requests for characters or locations.
Rune Soldier section[]
Banarl[]
Banarl (バナール, Banāru) is an old monk who is trying to build a weather control device. He appears in episodes 9 and 10 of the Rune Soldier anime (though in the latter only in a flashback and dead) and he also gets mentioned in chapter 11 of the Louie the Rune Soldier manga. Though Banarl is successful in creating a device, he dies while it is active and Louie, Melissa, Merrill, Genie, Ila and Celecia travel to Banarl's tower to stop the device.
Banarl once had his own private school in Ophun and Ila was once his last student. When the Magicians Guild was founded he was asked to teach there, but his pride stopped him.
Gonga[]
Gonga is an elderly man who appears in episode 11 of the Rune Soldier anime. He has found a crystal that he wants to excavate but its in a cave that is likely to collapse when the crystal does get excavated. He puts up a request for help and both Melissa's and Isabel's parties respond. In the end, the cave collapses and the crystal breaks.
Katherine[]
Katherine () is a young girl who takes care of her grandmother. In episode 12 of the Rune Soldier anime her grandmother tells her about a senian flower, a flower that blooms only under a full moon, that she has special memories of. Katherine, together with Louie and the gang, sneak in the Magicians Guild garden to find one senian flower there. Instead of plucking it, Katherine makes a drawing it and hands it to her grandmother.
Katherine also makes a brief appearance in episode 22, arguably the unintentional result of re-using a background still from episode 11.
William Wilder[]
William Wilder () is a young man and heir to one of the richest families in Ophun. He was once saved by Odessa, who bears a striking resemblance to Merrill. So much, that William actually mistakes Merrill for Odessa, introduces her to his family and wants to marry her. He appears in episode 14 of the Rune Soldier anime.
Odessa[]
Odessa () is a young girl who takes care of the kids on Ophun. She bears a striking resemblence with Merrill. She once saved the wealthy William Wilder in the mountains. When he later stumbles upon Merrill, who mistakes Merrill for Odessa and wants to marry her. Thanks to a plot by Louie, Genie and Melissa, Odessa is reunited with William and he marries Odessa instead. She appears in episode 14 of the Rune Soldier anime.
King Cobra[]
King Cobra () is a character who appears in episode 17 of the Rune Soldier anime. He is one of the participants of the Velasquez Ultimate Street Rumble. King Cobra is probably a sobriquet, but the real name is not mentioned.
Skinhead Lee[]
Skinhead Lee () is a character who appears in episode 17 of the Rune Soldier anime. He is one of the participants of the Velasquez Ultimate Street Rumble. His nickname is a reference to his bald head. He advances to meet with Louie, to whom he loses.
Molock[]
Molock () is a character who appears in episode 17 of the Rune Soldier anime. He is one of the participants of the Velasquez Ultimate Street Rumble. He wears a blue mask around his head. He progresses to the final of the tournament, where he faces Louie. During the fight Louie seems to decapacitate Molock, but it then turns out that a midget was under the blue mask, resting on someone's shoulders. The midget is revealed to be the assassin who was after tournament organizer Antonio Velasquez, but Louie, Jakinson and Leonard stop him.
Rocky Cannibal[]
Rocky Cannibal () is a character who appears in episode 17 of the Rune Soldier anime. He is one of the participants of the Velasquez Ultimate Street Rumble. He faces Leonard and defeats him, but gets disqualified for his antics.
Rebel Captain[]
The Rebel Captain is the captain who leads the rebel army. He appears in episodes 22, 23 and 24 of the Rune Soldier anime, during which he is seen leading his troops outside Ophun and awaiting to strike along with a coordinated again from within Ophun. When Dardanel, his co-conspirator within Ophun, is defeated by Louie, Merrill, Genie and Melissa, the Rebel Captain and his army retreat, believing they can't win without assistance from within Ophun. During episode 23 Dardanel mentions the country Fundoria as being a threat to Ophun, plausibly referring to the Rebel Captain's forces outside Ophun, meaning he may be of Fundorian descent.
Antonio Velasquez[]
Antonio Velasquez () appears in episode 17 of the Rune Soldier anime as the organizer of the Velasquez Ultimate Street Rumble. During the episode it is discovered that one of the participants wants to assassinate Velasquez. When it is discovered that participant Molock is the assassin, Louie, Jakinson and Leonard take him out.
